HE IS RISEN
As we journey towards Easter…
You’re Invited to engage in a month of prayer focusing on the Resurrected Savior! Consider who He is. What He has done. And who you are because of this.
- “So he got up from the table, took off his robe, wrapped a towel around his waist, and poured water into a basin. Then he began to wash the disciples’ feet, drying them with the towel he had around him.” John 13:4-5
PRAY for a heart that can serve those you know have or will hurt you. - “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. 1 Peter 1:3
THANK the Lord for sending Jesus to be crucified, buried and resurrected so that you can be saved. - Then Mary took a pound of very costly oil of spikenard, anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped His feet with her hair. And the house was filled with the fragrance of the oil. John 12:3
PRAY for a sacrificial, humble spirit at the feet of Jesus. - Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1
PRAY for your faith to be increased daily. - Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?” John 11:25-26
PRAY for opportunities to share Christ with those that are unsaved. - That I may know him and the power of his resurrection, and may share his sufferings, becoming like him in his death. Phil. 3:10
PRAY for a willing heart to endure sufferings to grow your relationship with Christ. - But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8
THANK God for His consistent, never-ending love. - For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16
THANK Christ for the promise of eternal life for those who believe in Him. - “…believes all things….”If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved Romans 10:9
PRAY for those who do not know Christ as their Savior that they will come to know Him. - “We are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be delivered over to the chief priests and the teachers of the law. They will condemn him to death and will hand him over to the Gentiles to be mocked and flogged and crucified. On the third day he will be raised to life!” Matthew 20:18-19
PRAY to be willing and for opportunities to do difficult things to serve God. - On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb. Luke 24:1
PRAY to be available to serve. - “And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death— even death on a cross! Philippians 2:8
PRAY to be obedient to God even when obedience may cause you discomfort. - Anyone who loves their life will lose it, while anyone who hates their life in this world will keep it for eternal life. John 12:25
PRAY to focus on your eternal home more than your earthly home. - For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him. Romans 6:9-10
THANK Christ that through His death there is victory over death. - He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. Mark 16:15
PRAY for opportunities to go into the world (local or abroad) and share the gospel. - But Jesus made no reply, not even to a single charge—to the great amazement of the governor. Matthew 27:14
PRAY to have restraint when challenged unfairly. - Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” And they divided up his clothes by casting lots. Luke 23:34
PRAY to forgive those who cause you hurt or discomfort. - “Do not offer any part of yourself to sin as an instrument of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer every part of yourself to Him as an instrument of righteousness” Romans 6:13
PRAY for every part of you to be an instrument of righteousness. - “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” Mark 14:35, 36 describes how, “Going a little farther, he fell to the ground and prayed that if possible the hour might pass from Him.” Saying, “Abba, Father, everything is possible for you. Take this cup from me. Yet not what I will, but what you will.”
PRAY to be more focused on obeying God than your own comfort or desires. - “He himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by his wounds you have been healed.” 1 Peter 2:24
THANK Jesus for dying for ALL of your past, present and future sins. - Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. Romans 8:1
THANK God that once we know Christ as our Savior, we are no longer condemned. - “Hatred stirs up strife, but love covers all offenses.” Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live. John 11:25
PRAY to surrender your wants, desires and strongholds to the Lord so you can fully live. - “We love because He first loved us.” He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him over for us all, how will He not also with Him freely give us all things? Romans 8:32
COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS—then THANK God for showering you with those blessings. - “See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God: and so we are.” “He rescued us from the control of darkness and transferred us into the kingdom of the Son he loves. He set us free through the Son and forgave our sins.” Colossians 1:13-14
THANK God for being set free from darkness. - “So then, if anyone is in Christ, that person is part of the new creation. The old things have gone away, and look, new things have arrived!” 2 Corinthians 5:17
THANK God for making you a new creation in Christ. - But in fact, it is best for you that I go away, because if I don’t, the Advocate won’t come. If I do go away, then I will send him to you. John 16:7
THANK God for sending the Holy Spirit to dwell within us when we know Christ as our Savior. - “You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those Then Pilate had Jesus flogged with a lead-tipped whip. John 19:1
PRAY for those who frustrate you and make your day difficult. - “On the contrary: “If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head” Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.” Romans 12:20-21
THANK Jesus for the physical torture He endured to offer you forgiveness of sins. - “So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three, but the greatest of these is love.” 1 It was nine in the morning when they crucified him. Mark 15:25
PRAY that throughout the day you will remember what Christ did for you as He was crucified. - The death he died, he died to sin once for all; but the life he lives, he lives to God. Romans 6:10
THANK God that Christ paid for all sin once and for all. - He is risen. Death could not hold him. Rejoice in the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Matthew 28:6
PRAY to overflow joy that HE IS RISEN!
