Music worship is our grateful response to God & what He has done for us. It is our joyful echoing of His greatness & goodness to us, so that all may see & encounter the Divine in a personal & intimate way.”
Desiring God by John Piper
Welcome! We are glad you are here! This page is full of numerous playlists for various seasons of life & faith. Whether in a time of praise, sorrow, joy, questioning, confidence, or confusion, be encouraged that these playlists are carefully pondered, prayed over, & Spirit-filled to offer hope in whatever place you find yourself in. Thanks for stopping by, & may God’s love bless you through these songs.
I’m not sure where you stand, but I am more of a “half glass empty” type of guy. It can be so easy for me to focus on what I don’t have, rather than seeing the blessings of everything God has already given me. To combat worry and anxiousness, I am learning the art of contentment. This playlist helps remind me of the goodness of God. Join me in the quest for joy, while engaging and listening to Choruses of Contentment. May you find contentment as you take time to worship. In response to requests to make this playlist available in an ad-free zone, the playlist is available on several apps:
Psalms of Perseverance
What is a psalm? Simply put, a psalm is a song. The word literally means a praise, to shine… How fitting in these times of darkness and confusion, that we have constant lights (psalms) to guide the way! This playlist are songs drawn straight from Scripture, reminding us of God’s Presence & Constant Love in these trying times. Enjoy this playlist: Psalms of Perseverance.
Songs Of Scripture
Scripture says that the “Word of God is living and active, sharper than any two edge sword, able to judge the thoughts & intentions of the heart” (Hebrews 4:12). Often, I am reminded how God’s Word is alive…today! It can be a fountain of joy and energy to strengthen and nourish us where & when we need it most! In response, I was encouraged once again to find comfort straight from the Scriptures in these Gospel themed anthems. Join me in listening to this playlist, Songs of Scripture.
Wonder Filled Worship
Anthems of Adoration
We don’t hear the word “adore” today as often as we should…what does it mean? To adore is to love, but in such a deeper and fuller sense. To adore someone is to have the upmost respect for someone, to hold them in such high esteem and regard. How much more should we have that for the Lord, our Creator, Savior, Redeemer, & Friend? I invite you to ponder with me what it means to adore, as we shift our focus upwards in this playlist Anthems of Adoration.
Meditation is a lost art in the Church these days. In a world of busyness, constant hurry, & distraction, it is hard for us to set time aside to focus & dwell on what matters most. I encourage you to join me, as we seek to “make room” to allow the Lord to help us focus on who He is & what He has done for us. Let yourself breathe, ponder the Presence of God in this “Meditative Music” & Be Still & Know, that He is God.
As the weather is changing & Michigan fall is upon us, I have been reminded of many promises the Lord gives us in His Word: Christ’s sacrifice, The Father’s Love for us, & the Spirit’s constant guidance & Presence. Be encouraged in this month of transition, may the Lord continue to be faithful in going before you & being with you through it all!

Echoes of Gladness
How is it that we can “Be thankful in all circumstances“ or “Give Thanks” in everything (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18) when we see so much chaos around us? Is it even authentic of us to be happy (glad) when times of hurt & pain are so evident? Lately, I’ve found freedom in learning the difference between performative happiness & gladness: One is reputation-based; the other is a state of being. One is exhausting; the other is real and restful. Whatever is happening in your life right now, I hope this playlist:
• is a breath of fresh air • puts a song in your heart • adds a skip to your step
Prayer: “Lord, remind us that every day is a gift. Teach us the value of the little things in life, & help us see all Your hand has provided & is providing. Thank you that because of Your provision, we can pour out our “Echoes of Gladness” to You. Amen.
So what now? Sickness all around us. Political divisiveness ever present. Holidays approaching. Is Thanksgiving really here? This feels so different. Are there really reasons to be thankful? Could it really already be “The most wonderful time of the year?” If I’m being honest, in many ways, it sure doesn’t feel like it. It feels like we’re stuck. It feels like night more than day (Especially now with how early it gets dark). It feels gloomy. It feels more discouraging than hopeful…
* ENTER EMMANUEL *
Emmanuel: God With Us
Friends, this is the world Jesus entered into. The chaos. The darkness. The in-between. The messy. The brokenness. To hold to Jesus is to believe just that. The “incarnation,” God becoming flesh, becoming human. Becoming like us. More than anything lately, as it can be hard to see the God above it (God’s sovereignty) & being in control, I’m encouraged of the God in it. The God through it. The God with it. That same God is with us today. That same God is in us today. His love has been poured out in us (Romans 5:5), so we don’t have to be ashamed. We don’t have to be afraid. That is the Hope we have. That is the Hope we celebrate. I pray these “Messianic Melodies” lift your spirits, warm your hearts, strengthen your bodies, calm your mind, & give you a new & afresh joy as we count our blessings over Thanksgiving and look forward to celebrating the advent season, Christmas, even in 2020.

Alright, I already know what you’re thinking… “Really? A playlist called ‘Desert Desires’ in winter? Have you ever been to freezing, cold, Michigan in January? It’s dark every day, snowy, no sun, and chilly doesn’t even begin to describe it. Now you’re just teasing us.”
Well friends, I understand and can somewhat relate to your pain. Growing up in Chicago, though there wasn’t as much snow, it was definitely cold. Not only that, there was nowhere from the brutal, whipping wind, with all the buildings surrounding. I’m pretty sure there have been years when my face and nostrils had icicles crystalizing.
So why this playlist? Why the desert? The desert may sound tempting to us right now, but we all know the desert is not a pleasant place at all: Scorching heat, barren land, vicious wildlife all around, little to no amount of water. The list goes on and on. To be honest, looking back on 2020, it felt like a never-ending desert. Whatever could go wrong did. and if I’m being honest about how I feel about heading into 2021, at least the beginning of it, it doesn’t feel like it’s going to be much different.
So, are we stuck in this desert place forever, full of parchment, longing and desires unfulfilled? Can’t we just get out of this? Well, maybe, just maybe, we need to be reminded that the God of the mountaintop and valleys, the God of galaxies and oceans, is also the God of the desert.
We just celebrated Advent: God with us, coming to us in every season. He is with us in this desert season. Most of God’s profound work in the Scriptures is in the desert place. It is in the desert the Lord not only does some of His greatest work, but His Presence is constant. Even when we feel abandoned, forsaken or forgotten, His gentle touch reminds us WE ARE NOT ALONE.
My prayer is that this playlist will let you feel whatever it is you need to feel. That these songs will let you enter into a space of honesty, vulnerability and authenticity. Let yourself be human. Allow yourself to experience hurt and sorrow. However, my prayer is that you will also allow God to heal those hurting and sorrowful places. Remember that He will be with you through it all. Maybe your desert season isn’t over, but neither is His Love for you.
