PRAYING THROUGH
THE CHRISTMAS STORY

  1. Matt 1:16-17 Jacob was the father of Joseph the husband of Mary, by whom Jesus was born, who is called the Messiah. So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; from David to the deportation to Babylon, fourteen generations; and from the deportation to Babylon to the Messiah, fourteen generations. PRAY for your family and thank God for His exact planning the family you have. PRAY for family relationships.
  2. Luke 1:26-27 Now in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a city in Galilee called Nazareth, to a virgin engaged to a man whose name was Joseph, of the descendants of David; and the virgin’s name was Mary. THANK God for His amazing plan to send Jesus into the world as our Savior.
  3. Luke 1:28 And coming in, he said to her, “Greetings, favored one! The Lord is with you.” PRAY to walk with the Lord in a way that God chooses you for amazing works to bring the message of Jesus Christ to the world.
  4. Luke 1:29 But she was very perplexed at this statement, and kept pondering what kind of salutation this was. PRAY to have a heart that ponders God’s word.
  5. Luke 1:30 The angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary; for you have found favor with God. PRAY to be courageous to step out in faith and following the direction God is giving you.
  6. Luke 1:31 “And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall name Him Jesus.” THANK Jesus for be willing to have a humble earthly birth to accomplish God’s purposes.
  7. Matt 1:23 “Look! The virgin will conceive a child! She will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel, which means ‘God is with us.’” THANK God for always being with us.
  8. Luke 1:32 “He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David; and He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and His kingdom will have no end.” THANK God for His amazing greatness.
  9. Luke 1:34 Mary said to the angel, “How can this be, since I am a virgin?” THANK God for His miraculous plans, including His plans for your life.
  10. Luke 1:35 The angel answered and said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; and for that reason the holy Child shall be called the Son of God. THANK God for having Christ have full deity and being fully human to relate to us on a deeply personal level.
  11. Luke 1:36-37 “And behold, even your relative Elizabeth has also conceived a son in her old age; and she who was called barren is now in her sixth month. For nothing will be impossible with God.” THANK God that He is not bound by earthly constraints.
  12. Luke 1:38 And Mary said, “Behold, the bondslave of the Lord may it be done to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her. PRAY to respond to God’s plan for you with a willing heart, even though you may lack understanding.
  13. Luke 1:45 And blessed is she who believed that there would be a fulfillment of what had been spoken to her by the Lord. PRAY for faith to believe that God’s plans are best for you.
  14. Matt 1:18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows: when His mother Mary had been betrothed to Joseph, before they came together she was found to be with child by the Holy Spirit. PRAY to desire God’s will for your life that you are willing to be inconvenienced and your plans changed to honor the Lord.
  15. Matt 1:19 And Joseph her husband, being a righteous man and not wanting to disgrace her, planned to send her away secretly. PRAY for God’s guidance during difficult decisions.
  16. Matt 1:20 But when he had considered this, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife; for the Child who has been conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.” PRAY for the ability to hear God’s voice in directing your life.
  17. Matt 1:21 “She will bear a Son; and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.” PRAY for our Frontline Bible Church children and that they will accept Christ as their Savior.
  18. Matt 1:22-23 Now all this took place to fulfill what was spoken by the Lord through the prophet: “Behold, the virgin shall be with child and shall bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which translated means, “God with us.” THANK God that no matter what, He is always with you.
  19. Matt 1:24-25 and Joseph awoke from his sleep and did as the angel of the Lord commanded him, and took Mary as his wife, but kept her a virgin until she gave birth to a Son’ and he called His name Jesus. PRAY for clarity and strength to follow God’s direction for your life.
  20. Luke 2:7 And she gave birth to her firstborn son; and she wrapped Him in cloths, and laid Him in a manager, because there was no room for them in the inn. PRAY that people come to know Jesus as their Savior this Christmas season.
  21. Luke 2:9-11 And an angel of the Lord suddenly stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them; and they were terribly frightened. But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people; for today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. PRAY that you have a chance to share the Christmas story with someone today.
  22. Luke 2:16-18 So they came in a hurry and found their way to Mary and Joseph, and the baby as He lay in the manager. When they had seen this, they made known the statement which had been told the about this Child. And all who heard it wondered at the things which were told them by the shepherds. PRAY for Christ to be glorified at the FBC Christmas Praise service.
  23. Luke 2:19 But Mary treasured all these things, pondering them in her heart. PRAY for purposeful time to reflect on God’s word.
  24. Luke 2:1-2 Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, magi from the east arrived in Jerusalem, saying, “Where is He who has been born King of the Jews: For we saw His star in the east and have come to worship Him.” PRAY to see God’s signs for you and follow His guidance.
  25. Merry Christmas! PRAY for a beautiful celebration of Christ’s birth with family and friends today.
  26. Luke 2:3 When Herod the king heard this, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him. PRAY for discernment between the world’s perspective and God’s perspective.
  27. Matt 2:10-11 When they saw the star, they rejoiced exceedingly with great joy. After coming into the house they saw the Child with Mary His mother; and they fell to the ground and worshiped Him. Then, opening their treasures, they presented to Him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh. PRAY for opportunities to use your spiritual gifts and talents to serve the Lord.
  28. Matthew 2:12 And having been warned by God in a dream not to return to Herod, the magi left for their own country by another way. PRAY to be obedient to God’s guidance.
  29. Matt 2:13-14 Now when they had gone, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream and said, “Get up! Take the Child and His mother and flee to Egypt, and remain there until I tell you; for Herod is going to search for the Child to destroy Him.” So Joseph got up and took the Child and His mother while it was still night, and left for Egypt. PRAY for your family and pray for direction as to how to best care for them.
  30. John 1:14 And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth. PRAY to see God’s glory in your life each day and thank Him for the blessings He showers on you.
  31. John 1:17 For the Law was given through Moses; grace and truth were realized through Jesus Christ. PRAY to be grace and truth in to those in your circle of influence in 2025.
