PRAYING THROUGH
SERVING OTHERS IN CHRIST’S LOVE
- Mark 10:45 “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.”
ASK God to form in you a servant’s heart that reflects Christ’s willingness to give Himself fully for others.
- Galatians 5:13 “For you were called to freedom, brethren; only do not turn your freedom into an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.”
PRAY for the grace to use your freedom to serve others in love.
- Philippians 2:3 “Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves.”
ASK God to help you see others through His eyes and serve with humility.
- John 13:14-15 “If I then, the Lord and the Teacher, washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet. For I gave you an example that you also should do as I did to you.”
INVITE the Holy Spirit to show you specific, humble ways to serve someone today as Jesus served His disciples.
- Romans 12:10-11 “Be devoted to one another in brotherly love; give preference to one another in honor; not lagging behind in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord.”
PRAY for renewed fervor in serving both God and others.
- Matthew 25:40 “The King will answer and say to them, ‘Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me.’”
ASK God to help you recognize Christ in those you serve.
- 1 Peter 4:10 “As each one has received a special gift, employ it in serving one another as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.”
THANK God for your gifts and ask how to use them in service.
- Hebrews 6:10 “For God is not unjust so as to forget your work and the love which you have shown toward His name, in having ministered and in still ministering to the saints.”
PRAY for endurance and encouragement in ongoing ministry.
- Isaiah 58:10 “And if you give yourself to the hungry and satisfy the desire of the afflicted, then your light will rise in darkness and your gloom will become like midday.”
ASK God to open your eyes to people who are overlooked and to empower you to bring light into their darkness.
- Matthew 23:11 “But the greatest among you shall be your servant.”
PRAY that God would reshape your understanding of influence so that humility becomes your first instinct in every relationship.
- Colossians 3:23-24 “Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance. It is the Lord Christ whom you serve.”
DEDICATE your daily tasks to the Lord as acts of worship and service.
- Luke 6:38 “Give, and it will be given to you. They will pour into your lap a good measure—pressed down, shaken together, and running over. For by your standard of measure it will be measured to you in return.”
ASK God to make generosity a natural overflow of gratitude, not obligation, in every area of your life.
- James 2:15-16 “If a brother or sister is without clothing and in need of daily food, and one of you says to them, ‘Go in peace, be warmed and be filled,’ and yet you do not give them what is necessary for their body, what use is that?”
PRAY for a faith that moves beyond words into tangible action, meeting real needs with real love.
- Acts 20:35 “In everything I showed you that by working hard in this manner you must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He Himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”
PRAY for joy in giving and strength to help the weak.
- Micah 6:8 “He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?”
ASK God to align your service with justice, kindness, and humility.
- Romans 15:1 “Now we who are strong ought to bear the weaknesses of those without strength and not just please ourselves.”
PRAY for the strength to carry others’ burdens with grace.
- 2 Corinthians 9:12 “For the ministry of this service is not only fully supplying the needs of the saints, but is also overflowing through many thanksgivings to God.”
THANK God for the ripple effect of faithful service.
- John 15:12 “This is My commandment, that you love one another, just as I have loved you.”
ASK Jesus to deepen your love for others through service.
- Proverbs 3:27 “Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to do it.”
ASK God for readiness and courage to step in quickly when He places a need within your reach.
- 1 John 3:18 “Little children, let us not love with word or with tongue, but in deed and truth.”
PRAY that your love would be expressed through consistent, truthful action that reflects God’s heart.
- Matthew 5:16 “Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.”
PRAY that your service would point others to God’s glory.
- Titus 3:14 “Our people must also learn to engage in good deeds to meet pressing needs, so that they will not be unfruitful.”
ASK God to train your heart to notice urgent needs and respond with wisdom, compassion, and diligence.
- Psalm 41:1 “How blessed is he who considers the helpless; the Lord will deliver him in a day of trouble.”
PRAY for spiritual sensitivity to recognize those who are struggling and the willingness to step toward them with care.
- Galatians 6:2 “Bear one another’s burdens, and thereby fulfill the law of Christ.”
ASK God to help you carry someone’s burden today.
- Isaiah 1:17 “Learn to do good; seek justice, reprove the ruthless, defend the orphan, plead for the widow.”
ASK God to give you boldness to speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves and to act with righteous courage.
- Luke 22:26 “But it is not this way with you, but the one who is the greatest among you must become like the youngest, and the leader like the servant.”
ASK God to cultivate a leadership style in you that lifts others up, listens well, and models Christlike gentleness.
- Job 29:15-16 “I was eyes to the blind and feet to the lame. I was a father to the needy, and I investigated the case which I did not know.”
PRAY to be attentive and proactive in meeting hidden needs.
- 1 Thessalonians 5:11 “Therefore encourage one another and build up one another, just as you also are doing.”
ASK God to use your words and actions to build someone up today.
- 2 Timothy 2:24 “The Lord’s bond-servant must not be quarrelsome, but be kind to all, able to teach, patient when wronged.”
PRAY for kindness and patience in your service, especially when challenged.
- Ephesians 6:7 “With good will render service, as to the Lord, and not to men.”
ASK God to purify your motives and serve with joy.
- Revelation 7:15 “For this reason, they are before the throne of God; and they serve Him day and night in His temple; and He who sits on the throne will spread His tabernacle over them.”
WORSHIP God for the eternal joy of serving Him forever.
