End Times Living
Pastor John Lowder
1 Peter 4:1-6
“Are we living in the end times?” That question has been asked for millennia, but the truth is we are closer to it than we ever have been. So if we are living in the end times, how should we be living?

FBC Board Updates

The FBC Board would like to inform you of TWO ITEMS in the upcoming FRONTLINE FORUM, October 24 following the service. A CONGREGATIONAL VOTE will happen October 31, following the service.

THE TWO PROPOSALS ARE AS FOLLOWS:

  1. To approve the Board’s recommendation to hire Leo Caldas as our Director of Worship Arts with an annual salary of $24,000, and an additional $3,000 to be designated to fund a worship arts internship program.
  2. To approve the expenditure of up to $15,000 to repair the air conditioning system for the auditorium at FBC.*
*Our Building Manager, Lynn Thomas has procured a quote to repair our existing system at a cost of just under $14,000. This would be a savings of many thousands of dollars compared to replacing the current system. There is a lead time of several months to order the required parts for this repair and therefore we are asking that this expenditure be approved this fall so that the system will be back in service next spring/summer. There will be an opportunity to ask questions about this expenditure at the Frontline Forum or you may talk directly to our building manager Lynn Thomas if you have questions or concerns.

To READ DETAILS about these proposals,
please read this update sent out on Friday October 15

Serious about sinning
Pastor John Lowder

1 Peter 4:1-6
Sin isn’t a topic most people like to talk about.  It affects us every day of our lives though whether it’s our sin or someone else’s. Sin is VERY opposed to the abundant life in Christ and will wreak havoc in it if we don’t arm ourselves with the right attitude toward it

Contingency Plans
Pastor John Lowder
1 Peter 3:13-22
Making plans for the future can certainly be challenging because things don’t always go as planned.  Having some contingency plans prepares you more for the unexpected, and this is certainly true even for how we live as Christians.  If you are willing to truly live as a Christian, people will notice because the gospel can be very attractive.  Not everyone will appreciate the life-changing power of the gospel though, so how can we be ready to embrace the opposition?

The Eyes of the Lord
Pastor John Lowder
1 Peter 3:8–12

Opposition isn’t always from others. Sometimes it comes from within ourselves when we know the right thing to do … but struggle to do it. When we are told to bless those who curse us or be humble and sympathetic to others, no matter what, we can easily oppose those commands! So why would we do those things then? The reasons are compelling!

There are even other churches who have begun hosting similar events. Come be a part of this fun outreach event. Join us for DGT 5.0! SIGN UP to play disc golf, or just come and make a new friend. Come serve pizza and or baked goods. Are you in a small group? Come serve as a group. Know someone who enjoys playing disc golf or who you just want to hang out with, invite them along.
